A. VINKUS RECEIVES AN AWARD FOR MERITS AT LITHUANIAN DIPLOMATIC SERVICE

On 2 August in Nida Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis presented the medal of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs “For Merits at the Lithuanian Diplomatic Service” to Ambassador Antanas Vinkus, who currently is the mayor of Neringa.
In 2008-2011 A.Vinkus worked as Ambassador of Lithuania in Russia, in 2006-2008 as a diplomatic representative of Lithuania in Latvia, in 2002-2006 - in Estonia.For active participation in development of relations between Lithuania and Russia an award of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs “For Contribution to International Cooperation” was conferred on A.Vinkus.
In 2000 A.Vinkus received the Cross of Officer of the Order of Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas, in 2004 he was awarded Estonian Order of the White Star second class, in 2006 - Estonian Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana first class.
