20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Macedonia marked in Skopje
On 15 October, the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Lithuania and other countries’ diplomatic relations with Macedonia was solemnly celebrated in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia.
The event was also attended by representatives of Australia, Estonia, Greece, Mongolia, Romania, Ukraine and the United States. The countries’ governments also established diplomatic ties with an independent State of Macedonia 20 years ago.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia Nikola Poposki opened the event and welcomed all the guests. Poposki said that this had been the year of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect, joint political, economic and cultural projects that had helped to build a safer and richer tomorrow.
Lithuania and Macedonia established their diplomatic relations on 18 July 1995.
