Diplomatic relations:
Vietnam recognized Lithuania de jure on 9 September 1991.
Diplomatic relations were established on 18 March 1992.
From 2003 to 2006, Artūras Žurauskas served as the first Ambassador of Lithuania to Vietnam (resided in China).
From 1997 to 2002, Ngo Tat To served as the first Ambassador of Vietnam to Lithuania (resided in Russia).

Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Singapore, to the Republic of Indonesia, to Malaysia, to the Kingdom of Thailand and to the Socialist Republic of VietNam.
