Diplomatic relations:
Mongolia recognized Lithuania de jure on 29 August 1991.
Diplomatic relations were established on 11 December 1991.
From 2002 to 2006, Artūras Žurauskas served as the first Lithuanian Ambassador to Mongolia (resided in China).
From 2001 to 2003, Chuluundorj Dashdava served as the first Ambassador of Mongolia to Lithuania (resided in Poland).
