Lithuania was recognized by Luxembourg de jure on 27 August 1991.

The official documents, concerning the re-establishment of diplomatic relations were not signed until the first envoy of Lithuania was accredited on 2 July 1992.

1992-1994 the first Lithuanian ambassador after the re-establishment of independence was Pranas Kūris (resided in Belgium).
