Diplomatic relations:
Indonesia recognized Lithuania de jure on 17 September 1991.
Diplomatic relations were established on 15 July 1993.
From 2002 to 2006, Dainius Ginutis Voveris served as the first Ambassador of Lithuania to Indonesia (resided in Lithuania).
From 1993 to 1996, Ani Subijartani Santhoso served as the first Ambassador of Indonesia to Lithuania (resided in Denmark).
