Diplomatic relations were established on April 1, 2021, when Lithuania's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Audra Plepyte, and the Kingdom of Eswatini's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Melusi Martinio Masuku, signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations in New York.
On 11 September 2025, Lithuania's Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė presented her letters of credence to King Mswati III of Eswatini. Jankauskaitė, who resides in Pretoria (RSA), is the first Lithuanian Ambassador accredited to Eswatini.
