Diplomatic relations: 

China recognized Lithuania de jure on 7 September 1991. 

Diplomatic relations were established on 14 September 1991. 

From 1995 to 1997, Chargé d’Affaires Ginutis Dainius Voveris served as the first representative of Lithuania to China. From 1997 to 2001, he served as the first Ambassador of Lithuania to China. 

From 1991 to 1992, Pei Juanjin served as the first Ambassador of China to Lithuania (resided in Russia and Poland). 

 

Diplomatic representation: 

The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the People's Republic of China currently operates remotely. When the function is impossible to be performed remotely, the person is redirected to other Lithuanian or EU diplomatic representations.
