Bosnia and Herzegovina recognized Lithuania de jure оn 6 November 1992.
Diplomatic relations were established on 6 November 1992.
From 2006 to 2008, Darius Jonas Semaška served as the first Ambassador of Lithuania to Bosnia and Herzegovina (resided in Hungary).
From 1999 to 2001, Hasan Dervišbegovič served as the first Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Lithuania (resided in Sweden).
