Minister Landsbergis is going on a visit to the USA
Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis is going to pay a visit to Washington, the United States of America, on 23 to 25 November.
The goal of the visit is to finalise an agreement with the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) with an aim to create the most favourable conditions possible for the development of bilateral trade and diversification of supply chains. Cooperation with the Export-Import Bank of the United States will offer opportunities for businesses to make use of Bank issued medium-term and long-term guarantees and direct loans up to 600 million US dollars.
Mr Minister will participate in the first meeting of the Lithuania-US strategic dialogue on Indo-Pacific issues. Prospects of bilateral cooperation and development of ties with partners from the Indo-Pacific region will be discussed during the consultations.
During his visit, Minister Landsbergis will also have a meeting with Mr Jose W. Fernandez, Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, where possibilities to expand and deepen mutually beneficial economic relations, in particular, opening of the US market to Lithuanian goods and developing joint investment projects in areas such as lasers, semiconductors, biotechnology and renewable energy will be discussed.
