Foreign Minister Landsbergis: “We appreciate the American Jewish Committee’s attention to global problems, efforts to preserve a rules-based international order. Reliable partnerships give us strength and hope in uncertain times”
In New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the President of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) Michael L. Tichnor, the CEO of the AJC Ted Deutch, and other heads of the organisation.
“We appreciate the American Jewish Committee’s attention to global problems and efforts to preserve a rules-based international order. In a world where instability grows daily, reliable partnerships give us strength and hope,” said the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy.
The Foreign Minister discussed the need for continued support to Ukraine at an already-traditional meeting with the leaders of the organisation that has operated for more than 100 years.
“More and more often, we hear voices calling for greater attention to “problems at home”. It also leads to a decrease in the volume and pace of support to Ukraine worldwide. I am sure that by joining our efforts for Ukraine’s victory, we will soon achieve positive changes in the economy and other areas,” Landsbergis said at the meeting.
The head of Lithuania’s diplomacy also noted that Lithuania supported and would support a solid response to countries supporting Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, including sanctioning certain Iranian companies and related individuals.
