On 17 January, on the margins of the “Snow Meeting”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and the Acting Assistant Secretary of European and Eurasian Affairs Philip T. Reeker discussed transatlantic cooperation in response to regional security challenges, including a threat posed by the construction of an unsafe Ostrovets Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

On 2 December, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the delegation led by the State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs František Ružička. The meeting discussed the Slovak Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and preparations for the OSCE Ministerial Council on 5 and 6 December in Bratislava.

On 29 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius expressed his condolences to a close friend of Lithuania, Chairman of Japan-Lithuania Friendship Diet Members' League Hirofumi Nakasone on the passing of his father, former Prime Minister of Japan Yasuhiro Nakasone. In these moments of loss, the Foreign Minister wished the family and relatives the strength to bear the great pain.
