On 22 February in Vilnius, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas met with Pak Kwang Chol, the North Korean Ambassador to Lithuania.
The meeting discussed cooperation in regional and international organisations; the Ambassador also got acquainted with objectives for Lithuania’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2013.
Germanas expressed Lithuania’s concern on the North Korean nuclear test that was carried out on 12 February 2013. According to the Vice-Minister, Lithuania supports the actions of the international community, aimed at pushing North Korea to implement the resolutions of the UN Security Council and at ending its nuclear programme.
Pak Kwang Chol is the fifth Ambassador of North Korea to Lithuania. The Ambassador resides in Stockholm, Sweden.
Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and North Korea were established on 25 September 1991. |
