On 16 January in Vilnius, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Rolandas Kriščiūnas held a meeting with Namibia’s second Ambassador to Lithuania Daniel Rudolph Smith and discussed with him opportunities for strengthening bilateral partnership.
The Foreign Vice-Minister noted that Lithuania was ready to contribute fully to the development of bilateral relations in the economic, trade and cultural fields. The meeting also discussed cooperation in international forums. The Namibian Ambassador stressed the importance of the development of the tourism sector and invited Lithuanian citizens to visit his country.
Namibia’s Ambassador, who resides in Stockholm, came to Vilnius to present his letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė. Namibia recognised Lithuania’s independence on 30 September 1991. Diplomatic relations were established on 17 August 2005. |
