On 12 March, an exhibition of works by Japanese photographer Hideaki Hamada opened at Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition “Haru and Mina” commemorates victims of the tsunami that engulfed Japan two years ago.
At the event, the participants were greeted by Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas, Director of Latin America, Africa, Asia and Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Ina Marčiulionytė and Japanese Ambassador to Lithuania Kazuko Shiraishi.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the Japanese culture festival “nowJapan” are organisers of the event. The exhibition will travel to other cities in Lithuania from 18 March.
The Japanese artist Hamada is already known in Lithuania. He gained popularity worldwide thanks to the photographs of his sons, Haru and Mina. He has taken the photographs of his boys since the moment of their birth. Hamada’s beautifully serene photographs reveal the daily routine and joys of the Japanese family life.
