Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius received letters of congratulations on assuming office from his Japanese, Indian, Vietnamese and Egyptian counterparts.
Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba (in this capacity until the 26th of December 2012) expressed gratitude of his country to Lithuania for its support after the earthquake in Japan in March 2011. The Minister acknowledged the fact that many events and bilateral visits of high officials were held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of re-established diplomatic relations between Japan and Lithuania and stressed that Lithuania and Japan are important partners at international level.
India's External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid stressed in his letter that very friendly bilateral relations between Lithuania were even more enhanced by growing trade and economic exchange.
Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh encouraged closer bilateral cooperation in various fields at a governmental level and between the ministries of Foreign Affairs.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Amr expressed hope for further promotion of bilateral cooperation between both countries. |
