On 26 September in New York, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis and Prime Minister of the Federation of Saint Kitts Denzil Llewellyn Douglas signed on behalf of their respective governments a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago was signed the same day by Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis and Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Dookeran.
This step will stimulate bilateral cooperation in international organizations – the United Nations organization and its specialized agencies. Moreover, cooperation with the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries is significant in the context of the European Union’s foreign policy.
Lithuania currently has established diplomatic relations with 163 countries.
