On 11 October, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis met with the new Estonian Ambassador to Lithuania Toomas Kukk and discussed with him bilateral relations, prospects for their further development and joint regional projects.
“When implemented, the Visaginas nuclear power plant project will enable us to achieve our common goal, i.e., to synchronically connect the Baltic States to Western Europe’s power grid,” Ažubalis said.
According to him, it is very important that Estonia is firmly determined to take part in the Rail Baltica project.
The conversation focused on the Nordic Baltic Eight (NB8) cooperation. This year Lithuania coordinates the NB8 agenda.
Estonian Ambassador presented the letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė on 19 September.
