On 9 January, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas received Australia’s new Ambassador to Lithuania Jean Margaret Dunn and the new Chilean Ambassador to Lithuania Salazar Sparks, who were presenting their letters of credence.
Germanas briefed both Ambassadors about Lithuania’s forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of this year, and presented the priorities of the Presidency.
The meeting with the Chilean Ambassador focused on opportunities for cultural cooperation and the upcoming Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and European Union.
Australia’s Ambassador and the Vice-Minister discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in the fields of education, tourism and science, when developing ties with Lithuania.
Jean Margaret Dunn is the eighth Australian Ambassador to Lithuania, who resides in Warsaw. The sixth Chilean Ambassador to Lithuania Salazar Sparks resides in Copenhagen. |
