On 17 January in Brussels, Lithuania’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas is attending an extraordinary Foreign Affairs Council, which is convened to debate the deteriorating situation in Mali.

The session will debate the situation in Mali and options for EU action: a Training Mission to help the Malian Army, and financial and logistical support to those African countries providing troops for the UN-AU mandated African-led International Support Mission to Mali (AFISMA).
