On 4-7 March, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius is paying a visit to Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. The purpose of this visit is to discuss Lithuania’s bilateral relations with Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, the relations of these countries with the EU, and to present plans and priorities of Lithuania’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of the year.
The Eastern Partnership Summit will be held this November in Vilnius. All the three countries in the South Caucasus are actively participating in the EU’s Eastern Partnership programme; the EU has negotiations on the Association Agreement with these countries under way, which would facilitate further political association and economic integration between the European Union and these countries.
