On 2 February, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius congratulated John Kerry on his appointment as Secretary of State of the United States.
In his letter, the Minister writes that the United States of America is the key partner in ensuring security, stability and well-being of Lithuania. He also notes that the Government of Lithuania remains committed maintaining close transatlantic ties with the United States.
Linkevičius also thanks the United States for support on enhancing Lithuania’s capacity in the field of countering nuclear smuggling and expresses willingness to extend bilateral cooperation in this field.
The Minister also expresses hope for fruitful and mutually beneficial bilateral and multilateral cooperation and assures the Secretary of State that Lithuania remains a committed partner of the United States of America in seeking security and stability in Europe, as well as in other parts of the world. |
