On 10 October in Ankara, Lithuanian Ambassador to Turkey Kęstutis Kudzmanas officially presented letters of credence to the President of Turkey Abdullah Gül.

During the conversation that followed the ceremony, good bilateral relations were emphasized and further cooperation in the fields of economy and transport was discussed.

The Ambassador highlighted common values of the two countries and noted that Lithuania was ready to share its experience of joining the EU with Turkey. Furthermore, he outlined the priorities of Lithuania’s Presidency of the EU Council.

Gül thanked Lithuania for supporting Turkey’s EU membership and promised to visit Vilnius in the short run.
