On 19-20 March in Brussels, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius is meeting with high-ranking officials from institutions of the European Union to discuss Lithuania’s preparations for the Presidency of the EU Council, common guidelines on big EU issues that will come up during the EU Council Presidency, and priorities for the Lithuanian Presidency.
During the visit, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister is holding meetings with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht, EU Development Commissioner Andris Piebalgs, and Kristalina Georgieva, Commissioner responsible for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response. Linkevičius is also meeting with Algirdas Šemeta, Commissioner responsible for Taxation and Customs Union, Audit and Anti-Fraud.
Vice-Ministers of Foreign Affairs Vytautas Leškevičius and Rolandas Kriščiūnas are also participating in the Foreign Minister’s bilateral meetings. |
