On 26 July, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis attended the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting, during which issues of Sudan and Iran, the Middle East peace process, the situation in the Western Balkans and Central Asia, and relations with the EU's strategic partners - India and Brazil – were discussed.

On 26 July in Sarajevo, Lithuania’s Ambassador Renatas Juška presented his credentials to Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Haris Silajdžić.

Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis says, that the country’s key interests during the Belgian Presidency of the European Union are the following: the EU's ambitious new energy strategy for 2011-2020 that would provide realistic tools for eliminating obstacles to the functioning of a common EU energy market, and a coordinated external energy policy.

On 23 July in Vilnius, at the ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of the U.S. declaration on non-recognition of the annexation of the Baltic States, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis thanked the people of the U.S.A. for implementing a long-term policy that did not recognize the unlawful occupation and annexation of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia after the World War II.

On 19-23 July in Vienna, the team for Lithuania’s Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) from the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and employees of Lithuania’s Permanent Representation to the OSCE in Vienna are participating in the training at the OSCE Secretariat. The training is intended to prepare personnel for Lithuania’s chairmanship of the OSCE in 2011.
