Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister meets with Ambassador of Benin
On 28 June in Vilnius, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas met with the Ambassador of Benin to Lithuania Eusèbe Agbangla, who presented his letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.
“We are ready to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Benin in various fields. We are looking at a few prospects, especially at the prospect of expanding economic exchange in the areas of information technology, renewable energy, and agricultural production,” said Germanas. He also invited the Ambassador to acquaint Lithuania’s business community with business opportunities in Benin.
The Ambassador emphasized the wish of the Government of Benin to expand cooperation with the three Baltic states, including Lithuania. He presented the country’s main priorities and called on Lithuanian businesses and the non-governmental sector to contribute to the implementation of the country’s development programme. According to the representative of Benin, his country takes a special interest in cooperation among higher education institutions to enable Benin students to study in Lithuania and Lithuanian students to study in Benin.
Eusèbe Agbangla resides in Copenhagen. He is the second Ambassador of Benin accredited to Lithuania. Lithuania established diplomatic relations with Benin on 8 August 2005.
