On 25 February, at the Constitutive Meeting of the new Center of Excellence for Civilian Crisis Management (CoE) in Berlin, Germany, the Ambassador of Lithuania to Germany Darius Jonas Semaška signed the statute. Along with other 13 member states of the European Union, Lithuania became a founding member of the new CoE.

On February 24 in Geneva, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius took part in the event jointly organized by Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland on human rights situation in Crimea and Sevastopol, illegally annexed by the Russian Federation, with a special focus on political prisoners and arbitrary detentions.

On 24 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization Roberto Azevêdo. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister stressed the need to update the world trade rules and to adapt them to the modern world.

On the sixth anniversary of the illegal occupation of Crimea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania condemns the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which has begun in Ukraine’s Autonomous Republic of Crimea and spread to eastern Ukraine. Russia’s illegal actions violate the international law, the Charter of the United Nations, the provisions of the Helsinki Final Act and the Budapest Memorandum, as well as bilateral agreements between Ukraine and Russia.

On 17 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. The Council discussed views on Libya and how to enhance EU engagement in the country, as well as the EU’s relations with Africa and India. In addition, Foreign Ministers and the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama had an exchange of views on prospects for the opening of accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia.

On 10 February Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius had a meeting with French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves le Drian in Paris. They discussed the key issues of bilateral cooperation, security, the European Union and NATO, and the European Neighbourhood.

On 5 February in Washington, D.C., the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Dalius Čekuolis attended the inaugural meeting of the new International Religious Freedom Alliance that was launched by the United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The meeting was attended by representatives from 27 countries.
