Foreign Minister bids farewell to outgoing Bulgarian Ambassador
On 25 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius held a meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of Bulgaria Emil Yalnazov via a video conference.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister thanked the Ambassador for his effort to develop bilateral ties and welcomed the excellent relationship between the two countries, the successful security and defence cooperation, as well as a comprehensive dialogue in the framework of cooperation within the European Union and NATO.
The interlocutors agreed on the need to maintain their focus and close cooperation on the Multiannual Financial Framework, cohesion policy, the financing of the common agricultural policy, and other items of common interest on the EU agenda.
The Foreign Minister voiced his support for Bulgaria’s aspiration of joining the Schengen area, the euro area, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. L. Linkevičius also underlined Lithuania’s readiness to share its experience and knowledge.
The Bulgarian Ambassador E. Yalnazov has been accredited to Lithuania since 2016 and has resided in Warsaw.
